Stop me if you’ve heard this one…
There are so many reading challenges that come out this time of year. Whether it’s a number to top, a genre to try, or just wrapping your head around the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge.
This year, I’m making one for myself. I’d love it if you joined me! You’ll see this challenge is totally customizable, depending on your own life experience and what new authors you find!
And away we go! Here’s my reading challenge for 2019:
A New York Times Bestseller from 2018
A self-help book on creativity
An historical fiction novel set in a time period I don’t know much about
A novel in a new genre (for me, that’s horror! eep!)
A book written by someone younger than me
A nonfiction book about a female historical figure
A book that teaches me a new skill
A book written by a woman of color
A book picked up at a used bookstore
A book set somewhere I’ve never been
A book set somewhere I want to go
A book being adapted for the screen this year
A book with 5-star reviews on Goodreads
A book that challenges me
A book in a YA fantasy trilogy
Could this challenge have more books on it? Sure! But I want to challenge myself to read differently this year, not necessarily to read more (although I’m certainly not opposed to that prospect!).
I would love if you joined me on my reading quest this year! If you do, be sure to tag me @christinedtrant.
